The 2020 Vintage has arrived

Super excited to release the 2020 Quin’s Vineyard Pinot Noir and Syrah, our sixteenth vintage.  The Pinot demonstrates candied violets and roasted rhubarb on the nose, following with plums in the mid palate and finishing with long beautiful tannins.  The Syrah shows ripe black cherry and blackberry notes following through the mid palate to nuances of French oak on the finish.  Both wines are elegant, balanced, and ready to pair with your holiday meals.  Released on November 29, 2023.  Now shipping to most of these United States.  Get yours now!

It’s the 8th Annual Garagiste Festival in Glendale, CA

Excited to be back at the Garagiste Festival at the historic Glendale Civic Auditorium on Saturday, June 17, 2023. This event is all about the small producer with every winemaker crafting under 1500 cases per year. It also benefits the California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo Wine and Viticulture Department – one of our faves! Ethan will be pouring Syrah and Pinot Noir. Thinking about what vertical to bring this time.  Hope to see you there.

Come join us at the LAWineFest in Long Beach, CA

We are looking forward to our first pouring at the 18th Annual LAWineFest on Saturday, June 3 – Sunday, June 4, 2023. It will be at the Harry Bridges Memorial Park in Long Beach, California and is benefiting the Los Angeles Boys & Girls Club. Look for us in the VIP Garden with other special, small producers. Bring your hats and sunscreen!

Please the Palate Wine of the Week:  Etnyre Wines!

2018 Etnyre Quin’s Vineyard Syrah was named Please the Palate Wine of the Week in January 2023.  Allison Levine interviewed Ethan and detailed our story and tasting notes.

The 2018 Syrah has a pretty perfumed nose with notes of violets, cherry, blackberry, pomegranate, and a touch of menthol.  On the palate, the wine is medium bodied.  The acidity and tannins are balanced, leaving a mouthwatering finish.”

Harvest 2022 is in the bag

Etnyre Quin’s Vineyard Syrah and Pinot Noir 2022 harvest is showing such promise already. The Pinot was harvested on September 16th and is in the barrels. The Syrah hung on the vines for a personal best of November 1st and is now bubbling happily in the fermenters.

The new SLO Coast AVA is born

The San Luis Obispo Coast AVA was approved on March 9, as a new appellation that stretches approximately 60 miles x 15 miles along the Central Coast of California.  It includes the northern border of SLO County near Big Sur down to the northern boundary of Santa Barbara County. Etnyre Wines is now proudly included in the SLO Coast AVA.  It is a fitting tribute to the distinct wines and flavor profiles of this cool climate region.  Congratulations to all who made this happen!

Etnyre Wines is at Saints Barrel in San Luis Obispo

Fantastic reviews from respected wine critic Jeb Dunnuck

92 – 2020 Pinot Noir Quin’s Vineyard“The light ruby-hued 2020 Pinot Noir Quin’s Vineyard comes from a vineyard outside of San Luis Obispo and has a great Burgundian bouquet of spiced cherry and strawberry fruits, notes of forest floor, iron, and salted meat, medium-bodied richness, a supple, elegant texture, and a great finish. It has moderate acidity and plenty of up-front appeal, so plan on drinking bottles over the coming 3-5 years or so.”

91 – 2020 Syrah Quin’s Vineyard“The 2020 Syrah Quin’s Vineyard (98% Syrah and 2% Torrontés) is also impressive, with cool climate notes of red berries, conifer, sappy green herbs, and pepper. Medium-bodied, supple, and elegant on the palate, drink this balanced, cool climate-inspired Syrah over the coming 4-6 years or so.”
